The Ashdown
RPM1 bass pre magnifier gives you both by cleverly supplementing traditional
bass, middle and treble controls (20dB cut/boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and
5kHz) with two pairs of mini-sliders delivering 15dB of cut and boost
at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. Inputs for active and passive
instruments are metered by a classic illuminated VU, and a wide range
of clean and warm, fat sounds are achieved by a variable blend of
dual triode tube and solid state input stages.
The sub-harmoniser remains central to the design of the RPM1, with
a variable level control delivering a range of 'fortified' tones from
subtly underpinned to bone crushing.
Push switches for Pre-shaped Eq, Eq In/Out, Sub In/Out, Pre/Post Eq
DI output and Mute (with led indicator) are conveniently located on
the front panel, along with tuner/line and sub outputs. Retail
